uFly Simulator performed at the 2022 Canadian International Air Show! That’s right! uFly Simulator was featured in the Flight Deck Zone tent at this year’s CIAS. uFly’s portable 737-800 NG Flight Simulator was a big hit with air show patrons on all 3 days of the show. Where many people were able to sit on a pilot’s seat and fly our flight simulator as if they were pilots. Not an easy task but we had our best instructors there to assist and guide everyone that tried it. On Sunday, day 2 of the event, it was the only “aircraft” that took the stage after the show was canceled due to weather conditions. Just one aircraft flew on that day. Our simulator was busy all day long to almost 5 PM when everyone was long headed home and we still had a lineup. Our flight plan for CIAS patrons was a departure from runway 15 Left at Toronto Pearson Airport and approach and landing on runway 08 at Billy Bishop Airport in downtown Toronto.
This flight plan took each student pilot directly over the center stage of the air show. The uFly 737-800 simulator was a great attraction for all guests in the Flight Deck Zone to try and have a real experience from the pilot’s perspective with skills, attention, and dedication.
From renting the truck, loading the simulator inside the truck, breaking a TV monitor in the process, running to buy a new monitor that would be similar to the other 2, setting up on Friday for almost 7 hours, and making sure that rain would not interfere with our simulator operation. After the show, taking everything back to the truck and setting back in our facility in Mississauga. An exhausting task for Ufly staff. Their dedication and passion for the aerospace industry are very much appreciated it. Thanks to all CNE 2022 and Flight Deck Zone staff, special to Michael Singh, Perry Doig, Lori Duthie, and Paul Rait and all volunteers from Ufly instructors, Aaron Murthy, Felipe Martins, Andrew Plater, Claudio Teixeira, Fernanda Teixeira that made the event a huge success.
We look forward to next year should we be featured in the Flight Deck Zone tent again at CIAS 2023.
